A Cozy, Cinematic Engagement Session in the Heart of Indianapolis

From the moment Edward reached out to us about capturing their engagement session, we were all in. Edward and I (Leonard) actually know each other through Muay Thai—we train together—and getting to see this side of him outside of the gym, with Pary, was something special. It’s not often you get to witness someone in such a different light-- from being a badass on the mat to sweet and tender with his girl. Meeting Pary for the first time felt effortless; they both brought such a calm, fun energy that made the whole shoot a vibe from beginning to end.

We started their session in the heart of the Bottleworks District in Indianapolis—one of our favorite spots for an engagement video or photoshoot. Between the brick-paved streets, vintage signs, and the elegance of the Bottleworks Hotel, it gave us the perfect backdrop to tell their story visually.

Pary and Edward were down for anything! They trusted our ideas, were patient when we had to redo a few shots due to crowds, and they leaned into the process with laughter. The Fountain Room in Indianapolis was our first stop on our journey—this moody, stylish restaurant gave us the perfect “cozy night out” feel, which matched their vibe as a couple. The way they naturally connected, even in a busy setting, made every shot feel intimate and real.

One of our favorite unexpected moments was when we spotted a beautiful vintage cadillac parked outside the hotel. It was actually waiting to pick up another couple, but we asked the driver if we could snag a few quick shots—and he said yes! One thing about Leonard is he is never afraid to ask, especially if it means the opportunity to capture some vibey shots! It turned into one of the most cinematic parts of the shoot, and golden hour light bouncing off the windows, it felt straight out of a movie. That’s why the engagement video has such a nostalgic, vintage look!

They also shared with us how they met—on Tinder back in 2018 (Pary messaged first... we love a bold queen!), and their first date was one of those that just flowed from drinks to dinner to three hours of deep conversation. Since then, they’ve weathered life’s ups and downs together, growing through career changes, challenges, and everyday joy. When Edward proposed, it was private and thoughtful—right outside the brewery where they had their first date. That kind of meaning and simplicity shows up in every interaction with them.

Here’s a little more about them in their own words:

Three words to describe their relationship? Supportive, comical, kindred.

Their perfect date night? Cozy nights in with their dogs (our kind of people!!!) or cozy nights out—grilling, arcade dates, or trying new restaurants.

A favorite session memory? The vintage car moment and a crowd cheering them on at the end of the shoot—proof that even in public, their connection shines. :)

Also, can we have a moment of silence for the ring?! Okay, Edward!!! He literally designed it himself! Absolutely STUNNING!

Their big day is coming up on November 1st, right after their seven-year anniversary and we're confident it is going to be as breathtaking as their engagement session.

Thanks for picking us to capture such a huge milestone in your story!
