We had the honor of capturing Cody and Alyssa’s wedding day at the stunning Duneland Falls Banquet Hall in Chesterton, Indiana. The venue set the tone for an unforgettable celebration, with its grand chandelier at the entrance and elegant white floral decor creating a timeless and romantic atmosphere.

From the start, Alyssa and Cody’s love story unfolded in the most heartwarming way. Alyssa shared a touching first look with her dad, whose tears captured the essence of their special bond-- from coaching and watching his little girl crush it on the basketball court to her standing before him as a beautiful bride. Then came her emotional first look with Cody, who's reaction started as pure excitement before he couldn’t hold back his tears any longer. The deep connection between them was evident and made their moments together unforgettable.

Alyssa, a proud Swiftie, brought her Taylor Swift fandom into the day in subtle but meaningful ways. One highlight was when Alyssa and Cody reenacted a scene from Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour “Tortured Poets Department.” Cody, wearing a top hat, carried Alyssa in a playful nod to Travis Kelce carrying Taylor while thinking, “Don’t drop the baby!” However, Cody nearly did drop “the baby,” it added a humorous and personal touch to their day, showing the fun dynamic they share as a couple and how down Cody is for Alyssa.

Their wedding day was full of cinematic moments. The sparkler effects during their dance lit up the venue in the most magical way, creating breathtaking footage that felt like a fairytale.

Our outdoor session was another highlight. After a light rain, we used reflections from puddles to create dreamy shots of Alyssa and Cody, who brought an umbrella speckled with raindrops for an extra whimsical touch. Though a rainbow had disappeared by the time we stepped outside, the stunning sky painted an incredible backdrop for their portraits. When we edited their teaser, we immediately thought of Taylor Swift, as the romantic, elegant vibe of their day felt like something out a Fearless (Taylor's Version) music video-- "With you, I'd dance In a storm in my best dress, fearless."

During Alyssa's Maid of Honor speech, Emily humorously reflected on Alyssa's past of going on dates just for the free food which paired perfectly with our scenes from the ice cream truck they had for their guests. It was such a fun and unexpected element to the day!

Every aspect of the day was beautifully curated. Alyssa’s hair was styled in a thick braid adorned with florals that matched the venue’s white floral arrangements, giving her a look reminiscent of Disney’s Tangled. Beyond the elegance, there was deep meaning woven into the day. Alyssa found touching ways to honor her late mother, incorporating her presence through a reserved seat at the ceremony, a bouquet tribute with her picture, and a memory board featuring the Taylor Swift lyric, “I can still feel you all around.” It was a beautiful way to ensure her mother was with her in spirit.

This wedding was extra meaningful for us because of our personal connections with Alyssa and Cody. Keanna played sports with Alyssa and was coached by her dad from an early age, and I’ve known her older brother for years. Cody and I still slide into each others DM's to chat about all kinds of things. Aside from the absolute privilege it is to capture people's love stories, we also love the incredible friendships that blossom in the process.
