Some weddings mark the beginning of something far greater than just a celebration of love, this was one of them. Mariah and Kyle's wedding on May 20, 2023, in Evansville, Indiana, wasn't just special for them; it was the moment that sparked the journey of White Pack Media. It was Leonard's very first wedding, and looking back, we can't imagine a better couple to have started with.
A Wedding That Started It All
One week before this wedding, Leonard had an unexpected and life-altering experience, he broke up a dog fight and severely injured his hand. The injury was serious, requiring stitches, but despite the pain and the difficulty, he knew he couldn't back out. Mariah, knowing the circumstances, graciously gave him the option to step away, but there was no way he was going to miss it.
Keanna was a bridesmaid, so the night before, we stayed up crafting a game plan, figuring out how he would capture everything solo. And that's exactly what he did, filming his first wedding, stitches and all.
The Beauty of Their Wedding Day
Kyle and Mariah tied the knot in a beautiful church adorned with grand stained-glass windows, elegant light fixtures, and a classic piano at its heart. Their wedding felt intimate, with both of their families coming together in a deeply meaningful way.
Mariah looked breathtaking in her gown, which featured delicate lace mesh and a floral-patterned back. Her bridesmaids wore soft rose-pink robes as they got ready at Kyle's parents' house. Mariah's mom, Cathie, helped tie her dress, creating a beautiful mother-daughter moment. Later, her father, Jeff, saw her in her gown for the first time during their emotional first look.
Kyle and his groomsmen, dressed in sharp blue suits, complemented the scene perfectly. Kyle himself wore a floral tie that added a pop of personality, which Mariah's mom especially loved. Their first look took place outside of Kyle's parents' home, overlooking a breathtaking open field in Evansville.
The Ceremony & A Perfect Celebration
As Mariah's brother, Josh, walked their mother down the aisle, followed by the bridesmaids and groomsmen, the air was filled with anticipation. Kyle and his mother made their way down together, and his nephew took on the important role of ring bearer. Their ceremony was a beautiful testament to their love, ending with the grand ringing of the church bell as they exited.
The portrait session that followed was nothing short of a fairy tale. The sun was golden, the greenery lush, and everything seemed to align perfectly.
A Night of Celebration at Kokie's
Their reception at Kokie's in Evansville was beautifully designed, featuring elegant decor with a personal touch. A mirror displayed their wedding date and the words "The Voegels," and a "Better Together" light sign, surrounded by greenery, illuminated the space.
As the night went on, emotions ran high during the speeches. Mariah's maid of honor brought both tears and laughter, perfectly encapsulating their friendship.
One of the most moving moments of the evening was Mariah's dance with her brother, Josh, in remembrance of her late brother, Jake. They danced to a classical piece by Ben E. King, and there wasn't a dry eye in the room, including Leonard's. That was the first time he ever cried at a wedding.
A Personal Reflection
This wedding was more than just another event, it was the beginning of our journey in wedding videography. It was the start of everything. We'll always be grateful to Mariah and Kyle for trusting us with capturing their day, even when the odds were stacked against us.
Now, two years later, Kyle and Mariah have a new addition to their family, baby Drew. Mariah and Kyle, thank you. Your wedding was where it all began.
With love,
